What’s it like?

For a small lake, finding the fish is the most important aspect of catching. Look for telltale signs; bubblers, shows, coloured water. Get on the fish and you will of course stand a very good chance of catching at all times of year.
In the summer, heavy baiting tactics work well with good quality Boilies and particles. Mainline Link is a winner on the water complete with popular rig presentations such as the Ronnie. Hook baits soaked in Almond Supreme Goo works particularly well for some reason.
Anglers have used probating tactics to good success on the water. Visiting the venue a few times a week, baiting spots little and often is a fantastic tactic for harvesting areas.
Every time you begin a session use a bare lead to search the swim and look for hard spots. Don’t thrash it to a foam, flick a light lead around feeling it down and pulling it back to pinpoint those little secret pockets that will consistently produce fish.

If you were to give a new angler on the venue 3 top tips for how to catch fish there, what would they be?

Find the fish, move if needed and keep the foot fall and noise down.
