Hacche Moor fishery
Hacche Moor Fishery, Devon
Hacche Moor is a relatively new 1.75 acre day ticket venue in South Molton with a decent stock.
Offering some varied angling, carp averaging 20lb, going up to just below 40lb and set in the idyllic foothills of Exmoor, Hacche Moor is a must visit for carp anglers in Devon.
A relatively new day ticket venue which deserves all the credit it can get!
The tranquility and chance of a real special carp makes Hacche Moor on of my favourite venues in Devon.
Honestly, there is nothing I would change about the place.
The scenery, facilities, condition of the fish and quality of each swim at Hacche Moor are brilliant.
Fishing wise, take your time finding spots to fish, keep very quiet around the lake and do not ignore the margins as these account for a large amount of captures.
A good quality bait is a must, seems to react well to fish meal baits, I use Sticky baits ” The Krill – pellet bring them in too and do not ignore maggots either.
Simple rigs are effective and solid bags are a good starting point.
Hook baits can vary, but bright colours seem to do well, wafter hookbaits in a washed out colour are my go to though and always do well.
Personally I opt to use solid bags on Hacche Moor as most of the fishing is in the edge, I believe a neatly tied solid bag is the perfect trap for these wary carp in the margins.
When you arrive make sure you walk the lake and locate the fish, it’s only a small place so location is super important, find them and spend an hour or two if you need to.
