Ash Tree Pool Details
Ash Tree Pool, Fenland Fisheries, Earith
Ash Tree Pool is a great place to take beginners or young children to enjoy or take their first steps in to fishing.
There are plenty of fish to catch on this third of an acre reed lined lake and the facilities on the Fenland Fishery complex make it a thoroughly enjoyable and easy days fishing.
Plenty of feed here as the fish are always hungry, pellet and boilie crumb works well
The fish are always hungry on Ash Tree and will take almost anything but I have found small pellet and boilie crumb work particularly well.
As does mixing up your freebies, corn, pellet, crumb and small boilies will keep them rooting around and always give you a bite.
I would feed plenty of marginal spots for the bigger carp and use short hooklinks with wafter baits to tempt the larger residents, but the old faithful waggler will do the business for a mixed bag.
The fish are aggressive biters thanks to the competition so if for whatever reason you’re not getting bites, move to another spot or try a different set up.
As always look for bubblers and signs of feeding fish, especially under the many overhanging trees.
I’ve had little success on PVA bags here, no idea why, they just don’t seem to produce.
In the summer months a dog biscuit or bread flake will do the business, you can pick out the bigger specimens by free-lining right on top of them.
Ash Tree is a great little lake for beginners and kids, has a good family feel and all the facilities you need to keep little’uns entertained.
