Car Park Lake, Stanwick Lakes Fishery
The lake has 16 pegs in the form of platforms and is within close proximity to the car park, as the name suggest. It is the smallest lake on the Stanwick Complex, but what it lacks for in size, it makes up for its beautiful features.
The little lake can be fished on a day ticket basis on a first come first serve basis and is ideally suited to guys wanting constant bites or a place to take the kids for their first taste of angling.

The perfect venue to take the kids for a few hours of fun
The Car Park is a tiny little lake of just an acre or two, boasting lots of features, from lilybeds, to overhanging snags, reed-lined margins. It is absolutely full of fish making it a very enjoyable water to go for a few bites.
Each swim is comfortable, made from a wooden platform so ideal for families and disabled anglers. There are no favoured areas really because the stock is high and there are features throughout the water.
I have visited the venue several times with my son and father. We often begin fishing for silvers; predominantly roach, Rudd and the odd perch using maggots on the a light waggler, spraying maggots over the top via the catapult. Whilst doing so we feed a few handfuls of pellets over the top too, just to prime the swim for later.
As is often the case, you will soon see the bigger fish move up, bubbling up like a cauldron as they feed on the pellets. Now is the time to hair rig a soft pellet!
If you get it right, fishing the hook bait on a hair, right on the bottom, you can catch small carp and tench aplenty, which really pull back on light gear.
Give it a go, a thoroughly enjoyable venue!
