Bradwell Lake is a huge put containing a good number of fish, including some wonderful new scaly carp. There are plenty of swims to go at so you will always have plenty of water without feeling too hemmed in.

Over the last few years MKAA has added around two tonnes of fish to Bradwell Lake, including carp, roach, rudd, skimmers, tench, crucians and perch. Bradwell was purchased and developed, with the help of a Sports Council Lottery Grant. In total over 150,000 pounds has been spent on the project which includes hard access roads, car parks and 18 pegs suitable for wheelchair users and concrete parking areas for four disabled badge holders. At around 23 acres it provides 50 to 60 swims and parking for more than 40 cars. Bradwell has already produced pike to 20lb, tench to 7lb and bream to double figures. The river section has chub to well over 5lb.

In terms of carp fishing it is a box of chocolates and has also had many new stocking of scaly mirrors and commons which are thriving in this sizeable water. The lake itself has bays, large expanses of open water and also marginal snags to target making it the carp hunters paradise. There are constant rumours of large carp being seen and not caught, so there really could be a few surprises in there for the angler wishing to put in the effort.

Bradwell isn’t overly busy so if you want plenty of water to go at without being bothered by many other anglers then it could be the ideal place for you.

What you will need!
